Ready to unleash your creativity? Art Fundamentals offers a wide range of interactive, therapeutic and educational art classes for children, adults, and the creatively curious. Whether you prefer one-on-one instruction and coaching or are inspired in a social group setting, we've got you covered.

Our classes explore an almost unlimited variety of mediums. From traditional watercolours, acrylic paints, gelli plate and lino printing and papier-mâché, to more advanced plaster of paris, clay, paper collage, wire sculptures, bookbinding, bronze and resin casting and even sewing!

We typically work on a rotation of themes and ideas over the course of a term. Our classes explore a variety of mediums depending on the needs of the students.

Your Teacher - Catherine Osterloh

I graduated with a Masters in Fine arts from Michaelis (UCT) in 2010.

I have since developed a 12- year track record in teaching art in private classes and leading schools in Gauteng, driven by a passion for sharing artistic expression.

As an experienced multi-media sculptor and painter, I have had the privilege of exploring my own creativity from a personal studio in Johannesburg, which I now share with my daughter. This has enabled various experimentations in set design, art restoration, and interior decorating.

With access to a kiln, printing press, and sculptural workshop, nothing is off limits, but we ensure a safe environment where creativity can be channelled.

My latest interest is in resin casting and botanical watercolours, but have a look at the gallery for some of my recent projects!
